September 23rd, 2019

Plus 8 partner Chen Zhidong was invited to give a keynote speech at the summit forum, “From Sustain to Ability – Eco-City Growth Experience Sharing in ASEAN Countries”, to explain the perspective of Plus 8 in the ecological urbanism.
We believe that steady migration from rural to urban areas encourages greater and greater exploitation of the world’s limited resources. Every year, more cities are feeling the devastating impacts of this situation. Design is not only on the simple technologies to produce energy and recycle waste. Sustainable design, changing from itself rudimentary of an alternative lifestyle of renunciation, can develop novel ways to balance ecology, aesthetics, and profits. Design shall undertake objects in multiple scales. The urban, as the site of complex relations, requires an equally complex range of perspectives and responses that can address both current conditions and future possibilities.
In conjunction with the speech, Academician Fu Jun had a keynote speech, “Asia Pacific Health and Ecological Design and Future”, and the President of the Philippine Interior Design Federation published “Green Ecology Design and Urban Life”.
